Welcome to the PTA page of the Mayals Primary School Website.

In 2004 we registered as a charity with the Charity Commission (our Charity Registration No: is 1113671).  Charities are not-for-profit organisations that undertake activities that contribute to society.

Our constitution is:-

“To develop effective relationships between staff, parents and others associated with school and to raise funds to support the school and advance the education of the pupils.”

This is done by organising fun events throughout the school year and include:-

  • A Valentine’s Disco
  • A Mothers' Day stall where the children can come and choose a small gift for their Mother or another female carer.
  • An Easter Egg Hunt for the younger children, and decorate an egg competition for KS2 children and egg rolling.

  • A Summer Fete.  With attractions including Cyril the Swan in goal, boat swings, bouncy castles, face painting, hair braiding, a visit from Theeko The Clown, ice cream sales, candy floss and many more.  A substantial figure is also raised from advertisements placed in our Summer Programme which is printed free of charge by Graphic Realm.
  •  A Halloween Disco
  •  A Quiz Night
  •  A Guy Fawkes drawing competition
  •  The School Christmas Fair, with a very special visitor and lots of fun and games and stalls for all.

  • We hold regular cake sales throughout the year and raffles.

In addition, we have also added the schoolfunds.co.uk website to our fundraising, for anyone purchasing on line.  Further details of the scheme are available from the PTA or on the website.  Anyone who purchases from the Yellow Moon catalogue is contributing to our funds as well, as we receive up to 25% commission on goods.

Each year we are adding new ideas, to try and make our events fun for the children as well as raising those much needed funds.

We are also a member of the National Confederation of Parent Teachers Associations (NCPTA) which covers us for insurance and advice.

All of the money raised by the PTA directly benefits all of our children.  We have raised money for every thing from Whiteboards, storage equipment, sports equipment, creating the out door Grassroom, audio equipment, digital cameras, carpets, travel funds, pantomime trips, leaving trips to pens, paint and paper.  With your support we really are making a difference.

A PTA requires commitment and hard work, but it gives a lot of fun and satisfaction.  New members and ideas are always welcome, so why not come along to one of our informal meetings, or let us know if you can help in any way.
